Visions Alive

  • I tried to do the impossible, to paint the light itself.

    Claude Monet

  • A painting requires a little mystery, some vagueness, and some fantasy. When you always make your meaning perfectly plain you end up boring people.

    Edgar Degas

  • Nowadays people want to explain everything. But if you can explain a painting, it isn't a work of art.

    Pierre August Renoir

  • I was walking down the road with two friends when the sun set; suddenly, the sky turned as red as blood. I stopped and leaned against the fence, feeling unspeakably tired. Tongues of fire and blood stretched over the bluish black fjord. My friends went on walking, while I lagged behind, shivering with fear. Then I heard the enormous, infinite scream of nature.

    Edward Munch

  • All art is erotic.

    Gustav Klimt

  • People always demand that art be comprehensible, but they never demand of themselves that they adapt their mind to comprehension.

    Kazimir Malevich

The exhibition is being extended until 30th of June 2018
All already purchased tickets remain valid.

Following the successful exhibitions VAN GOGH.ALIVE 2015 and HIERONYMUS BOSCH.VISONS ALIVE 2016/2017 the new multimedia show FROM MONET TO KANDINSKY.VISIONS ALIVE is yet another spectacular production up to take place in Berlin. The exhibition covers an area of about 1,000 sqm and presents the works of 16 most reputable masters of modernism in a unique combination of animated video projections going along with appropriate music:

Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Paul Gaugin, Henri Rousseau, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Gustav Klimt, Paul Signac, Piet Mondrian, Amedeo Modigliani, Vincent Van Gogh, Pierre August Renoir, Juan Gris, Paul Klee, Edward Munch, Vasily Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich,

they all were searching for new visual forms to capture the tremendous upheavals of their time characterized by the industrial revolution, political overthrows and wars. Their deliberate rejection of the styles of the past unfolded in new art movements like expressionism, abstract art, surrealism and suprematism.

Modernist’s paintings often contain secret details, hidden from our eyes making us wander around it. They open the source of sense in the places where the tradition only sees chaos and nonsense. The paintings easily get their new lives with the help of digital technologies because a hundred years ago the art of modernists was the first glimpse of the technological future. A spectacular journey to the revolutionary art of the 19th/20th century with razor sharp HD projections on huge screens and music in Dolby Surround are giving you absolutely new perspectives on art.

The running time of the show is 60 minutes; the continuous loop video runs non-stop
